Buffalo Chicken Dip and the Packers

Image
This weekend we had a lot of things to think about. Like what is going to make us pass the time before we finally get lifted from this awful quarantine.  The one thing that we have on our side? Football. Thankfully, my roommates are both big sports fans, like me, so we will be using our free time watching Notre Dame Football on Saturday and the Packers on either Thursday, Sunday, or Monday. This is a constant in the Cooper Household.  Another thing that is a constant is some buffalo chicken dip. Many of those who know me, know me specialty is making something with buffalo sauce in it. Whether that is buffalo wings, buffalo chicken wraps, buffalo chicken sandwiches, or other things. One thing that just tops everything else that I make is my buffalo chicken dip. I always have the ingredients in the fridge so that they are easily accessible in case of emergency.  Above is a picture of my roommate, Sydney, on Sunday night when the Packers played. I made a batch of buff...

Meet Finn

As if quarantine couldn't get any more weird. My dad FaceTimed me this weekend and told me he had big news. Someone backed out on a puppy and we got put in line for the next one and we are getting a new dog this week. If anyone knows my dad you know he is a jokester so, of course, I thought he was kidding, but he was not laughing but being the most genuine he has ever been. "Tay, I am not joking, we are getting another puppy." Right now, we have a Yellow English Lab and that is all my dad will get. He is very particular with his dogs and nobody is going to change him. The only thing is, there are only a handful of places that breed 100% English Labs and so he had been on the hunt for a couple of years now.  You know when your parents tell you something that they have been telling us for the past 5 years, and you think it will never happen? Well, that is exactly what happened here. Wednesday night we welcomed home the cutest little puppy I have ever seen (besides our othe...

Bonfires and Quarantine

Image
2 weeks of quarantine here on Cooper street. It's a weird feeling, knowing that you will have to stay in your house and only go places that are essential to keeps others safe. All of us in the house are trying to find new things to make so we do not go crazy. This weekend the Packers were on so my roommate, Sydney, made Buffalo Chicken Dip. One of the best things to eat on a Football Sunday. Quinlan, my other roommate, made us all hamburger helper on Saturday night and I was pleasantly surprised. I have not had hamburger helper since I was a little kid and I loved it. I will definitely have to go to the store and get more boxes of that to get us through these two weeks.  The best thing we have done since quarantine started is our bonfires at night. Quinlan brought a fire pit from her house and we have been sitting outside at night by the fire. Something about being in your sweatshirt and cuddled up with a beer after school is the most relaxing thing of senior year so far. Our...

Bid Day for Two & Ice Cream

Image
This past weekend was my last ever bid day at Chi Omega. The worst part about the whole entire thing was that it was virtual. Good thing that one of the roommates is also a Chi Omega and we got to celebrate together! That is one of the things that I miss the most, having face-to-face interactions with people and being able to see them smiling or laughing.  This year, we put our bid day shirts on and had a little party of two in our backyard! That way it was social-distanced and we weren't getting anyone sick.  Another thing that we did this weekend was take Humble to his first ever ice cream shop! He had a blast. When we got to Theo's there was a group of firemen that had stopped to get Ice Cream as well, so they were all obsessed with Humble and gave him tons of love. The only thing he needs to get used to is riding in the car. Whenever we take him places, he is not sure where he is going so he will not sit still and constantly whines. Hopefully he does not get too anno...

The Dog House

Image
This year in my house at Bradley, my roommate is a puppy trainer for the service dog club called Wags for Mags. This past week we got to meet the puppy that is going to be living with us in our house all year. He is a cute little black lab named Humble. He has stayed with us for about six days now and all three of us are in love. Although he is not really a snuggler, we are going to make him one. Out of all of the puppies I have been in contact with, he is one of the most calm and sweet little souls I have ever met. I got to watch him while Sydney, my roommate, was in class and I put him on my bed while I was doing homework and he just sat there and took a nap. To say that we are excited about this semester is an understatement.
